Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver and kick returner Dexter McCluster(notes) showed off his versatility Friday night in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
McCluster rushed for 47 yards on eight football jerseys carries, returning kickoffs 41 yards and 37 yards and a punt 14 yards.
“I practice it every day,” McCluster told the Kansas City Star. “I want to be ready when my number is called. My eyes lit up when they asked me to go back there. I was ready to get back there and get that game experience, and it worked out.”
Among the positions McCluster played Friday night:
“Running back, slot receiver, kick return, punt return,” McCluster said. “You’ve got to be ready at all times.”
McCluster (5-foot-8, 170 pounds) was the first of 2010 nfl jerseys the Chiefs' two second-round selections.
At Ole Miss, McCluster caught 130 career passes for 1,703 yards with seven touchdowns while rushing 304 times for 1,955 yards with 15 touchdowns. He compiled 1,717 all-purpose yards as a senior, the second-highest season total in school history.
